Waipuna Hospice has a high profile in the Bay of Plenty for providing specialist community palliative care.  Our geographical reach covers Waihi Beach to Otamarakau and while our focus is on hospice-at-home, we also have an established inpatient unit and we support a large community team.  These services are funded through DHB contracts, fundraising and income from our charity retail shops.

ABOUT THE JOB

If this sounds like you then please read on.  This position is based in our depot which is our hub for accepting and declining donated goods and processing them ready for sale.  From our depot donated goods are distributed to our shops.   Some of your day may be working in inwards goods sorting donations and other days you may be out in our van collecting and delivering larger items like furniture.   Some shop maintenance may be required from time to time as well as cleaning and electrical testing.

Desired Skills and Experience

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Full manual NZ driver’s licence and experience driving and manoeuvring a large manual van
  • Goods inwards /stores experience
  • High level of physical fitness and capable of safe heavy lifting
  • Goods and manual handling experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in dealing with people in a sensitive manner
  • Good problem solving and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A can-do attitude that thrives on contributing as a team player
