Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB
Waipuna Hospice is looking for a friendly, energetic and creative person to join our Fraser Street team as Shop Manager. This exciting opportunity is suitable for an experienced people leader with the ability to lead and work with staff and volunteers to manage our flagship Fraser Shop.
This position is a full-time position. You’ll work five days per week Monday to Friday8am to 4.30pm with flexibility to work weekends to cover staff leave, being essential.
As this is fast-paced environment you must be physically fit, able to think on your feet, be a confident problem solver and have a can-do attitude while adhering to Waipuna Hospice policy and processes. Retail and proven sales experience would also give you a significant advantage!
The Fraser Street Shop has a team of volunteers who assist throughout the week. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day rostering and coordination of these volunteers as well as staff, with experience and confidence managing performance issues.
Having the ability to build and maintain high quality relationships with a diverse range of people is key. You will also be able to demonstrate a high level of leadership, business savvy, influencing and negotiation skills. It will be an expectation that you support your staff to achieve NCEA retail standards.
You will lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive leadership and a can-do attitude. Your passion and appreciation for second hand goods and sustainable consumerism will be contagious!
Desired Skills and Experience
ABOUT YOU
Along with expert people leadership and retail experience you will have:
A minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience
A successful track record of retail management experience
Demonstrated financial literacy and strategic thinking with ability to make informed operational decisions to drive revenue through team success.
Intermediate / advanced computer skills including Microsoft Work, Outlook and Excel
The ability to lead a team to success and be willing to roll your sleeves up to support the team WHAT WE OFFER
